Torres made a brilliant start and headed in a Xabi Alonso free-kick as the home side dominated proceedings Daniel Agger fired in a ferocious 30-yard strike late on before David Ngog nodded in from point-blank range to round off the impressive win. A minute's silent was observed for the Hillsborough tragedy in which 96 fans died during Liverpool's FA Cup semi-final against Nottingham Forest. If Liverpool keeps playing like this then it is sure that they will win the cup.
